Greeting

Masahiro Nakamura, Chairman

I am Nakamura of O.N. Industries, and I was designated to be Chairman of the Industrial Council of the Tsuyama Area last year.
The Industrial Council was established in May 2000, by merging the following three associations of manufacturers in the area into one:
The Local Industry Development Association, which focused on traditional local industries,
The Council of Companies in the Tsuyama Area, whose members were mainly those invited to Tsuyama to set up a factory, and
The Industry Promotion Association of the Tsuyama Area.
The manufacturing industry is drastically changing so the Industrial Council, aiming for further development of the member companies, conducted tours of the members’ factories, recognized the necessity for manpower-saving and productivity-improving equipment and saw the actual automation state of each factory. Based on the information we got from such factory tours, we will discuss future introduction of new equipment, also we will have talks with regional high schools and universities for ensuring recruitments, hold lectures and study meetings for developing marketing routes, and strengthen cooperation of the member companies.
I appreciate your continued support and look forward to working with you.

My motto:
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Yoichi Akamatsu, Deputy Chairman

Tsuyama is one of the areas which least suffer natural disasters, such as earthquakes and typhoons. It is located in the central area of the Chugoku Expressway, making it easy to reach both the Osaka area and the Kyushu area. The Industrial Council of the Tsuyama Area is an association of influential manufacturers based in the favorable location. We manufacture products indispensable to industries and people’s leisure activities, or products useful for making people’s lives safe and secure, with high precision and high quality which cannot be achieved outside of Japan.
Unlike mercantile and service industries’ products and activities we see in newspapers and advertisement, our products are often sold outside the Tsuyama area so less recognized locally. I hope our new Internet website will help people get to know that there are such challenging and rewarding jobs in our local areas.
Out of company resources, the most important are human resources. In this area where a strong effort has traditionally been put in education, brilliant talents grow but not so many of them join local manufacturers. Here we do not have anything as showy or exciting as such big cities as Tokyo and Osaka, but we have jobs and lives full of nature, warmhearted people, and physical and mental relaxation. I strongly hope those excellent young people, who will lead the future, choose to work for local manufacturers and demonstrate their qualities there.
I would like to liven up the manufacturing industry in North Okayama with as many companies as possible participating in the Council, and expect new members to join us. We will endeavor to promote industry development in collaboration with Government, Academia, and Private Sector cooperation.
I appreciate your continued support and look forward to working with you.

My motto:
“Continuing small efforts is the only way to reach an unparalleled height.”

Hirofumi Mitsuoka, Vice Chairman

I am Hirofumi Mitsuoka of Mitsuoka Foundry, Co., Ltd. I am a vice chairman of the Industrial Council of the Tsuyama Area. In these days of declining birth rate, population decrease, and aging society, the labor shortage has serious effects on the manufacturing industry in the Tsuyama area in the mountains. Foundry, which I am in, is especially susceptible to it, with the work environment drastically changing with foreign workers, robots, IoT, AI, etc.
If the companies in the Industrial Council of the Tsuyama Area share each company’s advantageous business activities and exchange information and cooperate with others in different industrial fields, we can share member companies’ efforts, have new ideas, and keep up with the latest social changes.
We love and take pride in our area and, in cooperation with local governments and educational institutions, we will support local organizations and become what the local society can rely on. I will endeavor to support the chairman and the deputy chairman in fulfilling these aims.

My motto:
Life is worth as much effort as you put in.

Yuta Waki, Vice Chairman

I am Yuta Waki of Waki Woodwork, Co., Ltd. (“Momo Natural”). I was designated as a vice chairman of the Industrial Council of the Tsuyama Area. I would like to mingle the member companies, strengthen mutual understanding further, and share merit of every company with the rest, which will lead to promotion of the area’s and its industry’s development. I shall do my best to make this come true, supporting the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of the Council.

My motto:
Step by step.
